Plasma Experiments
CINOGY developed the Plasma Physics Operating Unit and the Plasma Physics Experimental Set for the Phywe Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, enabling two different plasma experiments.

Paschen’s Law:
The first set-up verifies Paschen's law U=f(p*s) saying that the breakdown voltage of a gap (U) is a non-linear function of the product of gas pressure (p) and the gap distance (s). By a micrometer screw the distance between two electrodes can be varied and the voltage required to ignite the plasma is measured. The experiment is installed in a miniaturized vacuum chamber at constant pressure.

Surface Modification:
The second set-up determines the wetting behavior of different materials such as plastics, metals, glass, etc. by plasma treatment. A high voltage pulse generator connected to a dielectric barrier electrode (DBD) is utilized for surface modification.
